Summer Spanish Immersion
As we continue to operate in an uncertain time, Colors of Spanish has decided to continue with our online adventure, Imagínate – Summer Spanish Immersion, through summer 2021. It has been almost a year now of learning challenges and we are so anxious to return to our in-person programs, but we are fully confident that this summer will be even more successful than last. Without a doubt, through art, song, music and stories our 5 – 8 year old students will be enriched and entertained as they travel through a selection of Spanish speaking regions.
In each session:
- Circle time: where we will present typical daily routines
- Stories: an opportunity to introduce basic concepts & vocabulary
- Virtual trip: we will visit each of our highlighted locations with a virtual tour, discovering the animals, environment, culture, climate and more
- Music & movement: original songs from Colors of Spanish and the Spanish speaking world will have students associate meaning through movement. Songs from Colors of Spanish can be downloaded for continued outside fun
- Art & games: activities providing an opportunity to connect our language goals to physical and mental activities that are actively engaging to the student.
Our modified summer program, designed for online attendance will be as follows:
- 8 weekly sessions | June 7 – August 2
- Mon/Wed/Fri
- 9:30am – 11:00am (Pacfiic – PDT)

“My daughter took all 8 weeks of summer Spanish camp on zoom. Three mornings a week x 90 minutes of nonstop fun and I got a well needed break. She danced, sang, listened to stories and created art projects everyday of camp. By the end of summer, she was singing all of the songs, swimming in laundry baskets, dancing with maracas, scarves, kitchen spoons, balloons, pool noodles and juggling wool dryer balls. Fantastic summer zoom camp! 5-stars!”
Oso Se Viste | Bear Gets Dressed
A Circle Time Story for Kids and Toddlers in Spanish
“One sunny morning, Bear wakes up with the desire to go out and play. Bear’s mom, tells him that first he needs to change his clothes. Bear is confused about what type of clothing he should be using for a warm day. His mother helps to look for appropriate clothes.” This activity gives students the opportunity to familiarize themselves according to the weather. Excellent for integrating during a Preschool circle time.
